El Paso County, Colorado

 The Department of Human Services Advisory Commission was created in October of 2009 to review DHS programs and funding and make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners.   The Commission also assists in enhancing community partnerships, suggesting human services priorities in the county and monitoring the implementation of DHS initiatives and mandated services.  Nine citizens are appointed to the commission.  The appointments represent one citizen one from each of the five Commissioner Districts and four who serve at large.  Commissioner Sallie Clark, County Administrator Jeff Greene, Human Services Director Richard Bengtsson and County Budget Director Nicola Sapp all serve as non-voting members. The DHS Commission meetings are open to the public and are held 9am to 11am on the third Monday of the month at the Regional Development Center at 2880 International Circle.
