The El Paso County Department of Human Services assists people in our community who are seeking resources to meet some of life’s many demands. We work to ensure our County’s residents are able to live and grow in an environment free of extreme poverty, abuse or neglect. We accomplish this by using local, State and Federal programs that are available to El Paso County residents. We strive to view the family unit as a whole and provide the best assistance through combining all the support and services we have available in an integrated and efficient manner.
Our Assistance Programs Area supports individuals and families through financial assistance that includes but is not limited to Food Assistance, Medical Assistance, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, Child Care, Aid to the Needy Disabled, Old Age Pension, Low-income Energy Assistance Program, etc.
Our Child and Adult Protective Services provides protective services to children and adults, foster care and adoption, and other services that help identify maltreatment, abuse and neglect. If you suspect that a child, disabled or elderly citizen is being abused or neglected please call our 24 hour hotline.
Our Additional Resources area provides contact information for programs and other supportive services provided directly by El Paso County personnel, and/or through collaborations with community partners.
